초록Abstract

Creative industries demand sustained, risk-tolerant investment whose payoffs arrive on horizons that strain conventional governance. Through a comparative study of two leading Korean media firms with contrasting ownership structures, this paper examines how ownership governance shapes the capacity to commit to long-term content and infrastructure investment, linking governance design to the sustainability of creative production.

Overview

Why do some media firms keep investing through downturns while others retrench? Comparing two leading Korean media companies whose ownership structures diverge, this study traces how governance arrangements — concentrated versus dispersed ownership, and the accountability structures around them — translate into different long-term investment behavior in content and creative capacity.
